The park name does not locate the parked vehicle

Tell Rick’s the vehicle’s actual address or parking entrance, not just the park or beach name. Identify a lot, street space, harbor approach or garage. For a large parking area, give a row or nearby fixed sign plus the car’s make, model and color.

A pedestrian path, the lakefront trail and the sand are not vehicle pickup routes. Do not drive onto them to meet a tow truck. If a gate or staff member controls entry, obtain authorized access before arranging service.

Montrose, Foster, Loyola and nearby harbor parking

At Montrose, distinguish beach parking from harbor parking and nearby street spaces. The Park District lists pay-and-display lots and street parking for Montrose Beach; the lot or entrance you used still needs to be identified.

For Foster or Loyola Beach, describe the actual street or lot where you parked. Near Belmont or Diversey Harbor, distinguish an accessible vehicle space from a path or waterfront location. See the Lake View East, Uptown, Edgewater and Loyola area guides.

Common problems after a park visit

If the battery is discharged, describe what happens when you start the car before requesting a jump start. For keys locked inside, explain who can authorize access. A tire change needs a usable spare and enough safe working room.

Report parking restrictions, closing gates and blocked access when you call. Check posted signs or the relevant facility page for current rules; this guide does not promise gate access or extended parking permission.

If the vehicle has disappeared

A missing car may have been relocated or impounded rather than needing roadside service. Use the official Chicago vehicle tow search and towing information resources. If you suspect theft or people are in danger, contact police or emergency services as appropriate.

Rick’s does not represent the Chicago Park District, police, a city impound facility or an official park towing program.

Questions before arranging service

Can Rick’s retrieve a car from a closed beach lot?

Explain the gate restrictions and who can authorize access. Service cannot be promised without a safe, permitted approach.

Can I book a tow with only a beach name?

Provide the actual vehicle location, accessible entrance and vehicle details. The name helps orient the operator but does not identify a loading position.

Arrange help at an accessible park or beach parking space

Tell Rick’s your exact pickup location, vehicle and what happened. Confirm equipment fit, access, availability, arrival estimate and the total quote before dispatch.
